Clinical Services - Therapy

Clinical Services at Pathways Counseling and Wellness PLLC are services considered to be healthcare and are connected to a mental health diagnosis. Insurance companies may pay for these services, as they are considered medically necessary based on diagnosis given.

Intake/Assessment

All therapy services begin with an intake / assessment session. We assess your wants and needs and create a basic framework of the type (modalities, frequency, duration, etc) of therapy that will suit you best.

Individual Therapy

I use a client-centered and strength based approach in individual therapy sessions. I will help you clarify what you want to get out of therapy, and we will create a path, or plan, of how to help you get there. I don’t make goals for you; I help you define for yourself where you want to take our sessions, and your life.

Family Therapy

In family therapy sessions, we focus on family patterns of interaction and communication and ways we can develop, change, or shift these things to support the client’s growth and progress toward therapy goals.

* Walk and Talk Sessions *

Walk and talk therapy sessions are a way of conducting individual sessions while in the outdoors. For some people, moving their bodies and being out in nature can help the therapy process; however, there are additional considerations to take into account, including possible safety issues and limits to confidentiality. Walk and talk therapy is always at your pace; if this is a strategy you may be interested in, please let me know.

Future Offerings - Group Therapy

There are two different types of group therapy:

  • Standard group therapy, made up of different clients who have similar experiences or needs

  • Multi-family group therapy, for parents / guardians of children (the identified client) with similar challenges, who want to learn to better understand and support their child

Non-Clinical Services

Other services provided by Pathways Counseling and Wellness PLLC include coaching, consultation, and supervision.
These services are not considered to be healthcare and are not reimbursable by health insurance.

Parent Coaching: provides education, skill-building, and - for coaching groups - facilitated peer support. Coaching does NOT include identifying/giving diagnoses or providing therapeutic treatment of mental health diagnoses.

Consultation and training:
available to staff members and administration at schools, child care centers, and more.

Supervision:
I am a Washington State Approved Supervisor for post-graduate mental health professionals working toward full / independent licensure. If you are an associate therapist or other mental health professional in Washington State and are interested in obtaining clinical supervisision toward licensure, please contact me. Note that I am an LMFT - different mental health professions allow different portions (or all) of your clinical supervision to be obtained by an approved supervisor who is not within your specific field (e.g. MSW, MHC).
